Get excited because beignets are coming to the streets of Champaign-Urbana with the launch of Stango Bites, a new C-U food truck by Stango Cuisine. The food truck will have a curated menu of popular appetizers and the restaurant’s ginger juice. Stango Bites will serve all three of the restaurant’s savory handpies: chicken, beef, and vegetable, each seasoned with flavorful Zambian spices.
The truck will also serve Stango’s amazing beignets and samosas — both of which will be fried to order on the truck. I can’t hardly wait to have a mouthful of powdered sugar and hot, pillowy fried dough, can you?
Stango was one of (if not) the first Zambian restaurant in North America when it opened in 2018 in the Lincoln Square Mall. Stango served their menu of delicious African food in Urbana until 2022 when the restaurant moved, now sharing space with Wood N’ Hog in Downtown Champaign.

Stango Bites food truck will be at Pride Fest this Saturday in Urbana, but since the truck is not yet operational, Stango will serve the Zambian apps and ginger juice from a table in front of the truck. If you’ll be at Pride Fest this weekend, check it out.
