Juneteenth is coming up on Monday. It was recognized as a federal holiday by President Biden in 2021, and we will recognize it as a magazine as well, taking a publishing break that day. Will you be celebrating or acknowledging the holiday in some way? NPR shared this advice last year for how those of us who aren’t Black can recognize the day without misappropriating it, certainly something important to keep in mind.
Here is some of our Juneteenth coverage from previous years:
- Juneteenth: Celebrating the freedom of expression
- Here are some C-U Black-owned restaurants to support this Juneteenth
- Neil St. Blues buffet brunch is a smorgasbord of Southern cuisine
- Juneteenth Emancipation Day 2018
