Here’s a look at what Miga’s serving for lunch

As Jess mentioned not too long ago, Miga is now open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. every day but Sunday. After hearing this news, I wanted to go and check out what they were serving up. There aren’t a ton of lunch options quite like this in Downtown Champaign (though there are a few sushi options), so this is a welcomed addition to the landscape.

The lunch specials feature a sushi bar combination option (sushi, nigiri, sashimi combo options), bento boxes, and entrees that you can find on their standard dinner menu. You can see the few options we went with above, but between two bento boxes and a sushi bar combination, we had a variation of options from this menu of lunch specials.

Two bento boxes — salmon teriyaki (right, $15) and bulgogi (left, $13) are served with house salad, fried shumai, potato croquette, 4 pieces of California rolls, and miso soup (though not pictured here).

We went with the sushi 3 piece + sashimi 6 piece + choice of 1 roll ($19), and chose the spicy tuna roll, which was terrific. The sashimi included spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp, and yellowfin.

We definitely ordered enough for the two of us, so you could easily mix and match a few of these options for sharing for under $30 + tip. Or, you know, choose to keep yours to yourself, which is more than fair if you’re not trying to share.
