I love me some flautas at Seven Saints

Can I go off about how good the flautas at Seven Saints are? When I’m at Seven Saints, I pretend to read the menu, but it’s just for show. I already know I’m ordering the chicken flautas because that appetizer is awesome. Eight fat flautas-halves are stuffed with chicken, cheese, corn, and black beans, then fried, topped with a sour cream squiggle and a housemade mango salsa, served with the restaurant‘s special sweet jalapeño sauce.

There’s so much peppery, yummy chicken in each bite and plenty syrup to drown every stuffed flauta. With a subtle jalapeño flavor, the tasty sauce is thin and drippy, so it really saturates the fried flour wrap and chicken. Everything just hits: the contrast of cold toppings on piping-hot tortillas, savory bites in a sweet dip, and that crispy-edged deliciousness paired with soft filling. Just feast your eyes on it.
