Each year, Miller Park Zoo offers up an opportunity to hang out amongst the animals and do fun Halloween-y sorts of things. I know when I had younger kids, I was all for any additional chance for them to wear their Halloween costume. Spooktacular will span two days: October 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. and October 22nd from 12 to 3 p.m. Both sessions are family-friendly, but they do attach a mild warning that the evening one will be a “little bit scary,” which is probably sort of par for the course for a Halloween-themed event at night. If you have sensitive kiddos, maybe the daytime version is a good choice.

There will be crafts, games, glitter tattoos, and local vendors to visit. You can also purchase hayride tickets for an additional $3 per person.

Tickets on Saturday night are $3 for zoo members and $8 for the general public. Sunday is regular zoo admission ($4.95-$6.95) and free for zoo members. Tickets for the Saturday can be purchased now online.
