Less than a week after the Unit 4 Referendum didn’t pass by a six point margin, Champaign resident Kathy Richards created a Change.org petition to challenge the Board to change the location site before proposing another vote.
As of this morning, Monday November 10, 2014, the petition had over 200 signatures.
It might interest you to know that despite the fact that a quick scan of who has signed it includes most of the members of the Unit 4 school board along with Judy Wiegand, the superintendent, those are, indeed, fakes.
I emailed the Board to ask them about it, and this came back from John Bambenek:
Anonymous troll. I assume the signature from David Duke is a troll as well.
So while there is a movement to ask the board to change the location, it isn’t currently being supporting by any of the school board members or Grand Wizards of the Ku Klux Klan.
