On Friday, September 15th, at 7 p.m., Illinois Public Media and The Land Connection are presenting the film Greener Pastures at the Virginia Theatre as part of the Arthouse Experience Film Series. According to the film’s website, it’s a look at “the various farm stressors, policies and politics farmers must maneuver to survive, connecting the dots between mental health, industrialization, food production and climate change.” These issues are examined by following the day-to-day lives of four Midwestern farmers.

Following the film, there will be a panel discussion and audience Q&A moderated by Illinois Public Media’s Kimberlie Kranich, featuring director Samuel-Ali Mirpoorian, owner of Janie’s Mill Harold Wilken, and Leslie Cooperband of Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery.

Tickets are $7, and can be purchased online.
