Food & Drink Editor Alyssa has done a remarkable job at finding the good wing spots throughout C-U. Be sure to read part one and two of her wing quest. I’ve found a spot outside of C-U to add to the list.
A couple of weeks ago I was headed back to C-U from watching a soccer game, and stopped for dinner at Main St. Pub in Monticello. Lucky for us, it was a Thursday, and therefore wing night. On wing night bone-in wings are 95 cents each, and boneless are 75 cents each. Wing night begins at 5 p.m. on Thursdays.

You can get different sauces, but need to order at least four wings per sauce. My husband and I tried Wild Turkey Bourbon, Jamaican Jerk, Medium, and Garlic Parmesan. All of the sauces come as dips except for the last one one. Garlic Parm was definitely my fave, and I also really like the spicy sweetness of the jerk.
The wings are crunchy and juicy, and good-sized. We each had eight, and that was plenty even without ordering a side. Beyond wings, the regular menu is also pretty standard bar fare: fried breaded things, pretzels, burgers, sandwiches, etc, and they have daily specials. You order at the bar, then someone brings your food out.
They have really nice patio tables and chairs if you happen to go when the weather is nice. Definitely would not have made Tom’s list of hated chairs.
