On the evening of March 21st, the East Gallery at Krannert Art Museum will host the next Art Remastered Show, featuring HUM’s Matt Talbott. The event, scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., is part of a series designed to bridge the gap between music and visual art, allowing artists to present their interpretations of the artworks on display.

Organized by Kamila Glowacki, this edition of Art Remastered is free to the public, with registration available through Eventbrite. Talbott, a singer, songwriter, and touring musician from Champaign, will perform solo material that he has been developing over the last few years. His performance will incorporate nylon string guitar, analog tape, and digital loops, and will be complemented by Super 8 film footage he created while on tour. Talbott’s music delves into themes of identity and loss, navigating the journey of self-discovery across both terrestrial and cosmic settings.

The performance is set to take place in a comfortable and accessible environment within the museum, offering a variety of seating options to accommodate all guests. Attendees are encouraged to visit nearby galleries during the event, which will also include ASL interpretation to ensure accessibility. Talbott’s participation in the show extends to selecting pieces from the Krannert Art Museum’s collection that resonate with his musical themes, aiming to create a cohesive experience that blends his music with the visual arts. This approach reflects the overarching goal of the Art Remastered series, which is to foster a dialogue between different forms of artistic expression, inviting the audience to experience art in new and interactive ways.
