The Art Theater went on the market with an asking price of just under $2 million, then that was cut in half last March to just under $1 million. Now, owner David Kraft has knocked the price down a bit more to $870,000. This includes the theater, the neighboring barber shop, four leased apartments, and a billboard.
We’ve spoken at length about the loss of cultural spaces in Champaign, and lamented the number of empty spaces in general, and continue to hold out hope that something will become of this iconic space.
