Champaign County’s next twice-yearly residential electronics collection is Saturday, October 14th, from 8 a.m to noon. You’ll need to register for a spot online; registration opens Monday, September 11th.
Per the website:
residents [can] reserve an available 15-minute time slot between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th. Upon reserving a time, residents will receive confirmation via e-mail and/or text message. Then, 10-14 days before the event, they will receive a postcard in the mail that will serve as their “ticket” into the event.
This is your chance to safely get rid of your old TVs (up to four of them), as well as other electronic items. Read the website for the entire list. Each person is only permitted seven items by law.
