Part of the Greenfield Lynch Lecture Series, “an annual lecture on Jewish American literature and literary studies jointly organized by the Department of English and the Program in Jewish Culture & Society,” poet and novelist Ben Lerner will be visiting the University of Illinois on April 4th, for a discussion with author, professor, and director of The Initiative in Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies Brett Ashley Kaplan.

Lerner recently published a book of poetry titled The Lights, and his novel The Topeka School won the Los Angeles Times Book Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

The event will take place at Levis Faculty Center, room 210, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Greenfield Lynch Lecture Series is sponsored by U of I alum Deborah Lynch, in honor of her late parents and daughter as a “celebration of the discoveries brought through the liberal arts and promotes higher learning around Jewish culture.” You can read more about Lynch and the series at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences website.
