By mid-May, Collective Pour bar will have food service again, this time by the food truck Smith Burger Co which is known for tasty smashburgers and tots. The truck will continue to serve food around Champaign-Urbana. This is the second time Collective Pour has partnered with C-U chefs; for most 2022, Weird Meat Boyz cooked in the bar’s kitchen before opening The Space restaurant.

When Smith Burger first begins serving dinner at Collective Pour, they plan to use the green truck’s original menu of smashburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, fries, tots, and cheese curds. In the coming weeks, the restaurant will gradually add more menu items exclusive to the bar location like salads, wings, soups, and sharable appetizers like nachos and jumbo pretzels like Collective Pour used to serve.

Also, huzzah: Smith Burger plans to offer their popular collaborative burgers: the Glazed and Confused burger on a Ye Olde doughnut and Hamburguesa Al Pastor, a burger topped with Maize’s al pastor and guacamole, too. Diners will order from a Smith Burger staff person to the left of the bar, receive a pager just like the truck, and when it buzzes, retrieve food from the kiosk.

Watch Smith Burger on Facebook or Instagram (and also Collective Pour on Facebook or Instagram) for updates on the restaurant’s opening, hours, and where to find the green truck in the meantime.
