The Odyssey Project, which provides educational opportunities for adults who have not previously had access to a college education, will once again be offering a free writing workshop during the month of June. The course is non-credit bearing, but “seeks to amplify the voices of students by creating a space for them to explore issues relevant to their lived experience in Champaign-Urbana and surrounding communities.”

It will be taught by Ángel García, a poet and professor of English at the University of Illinois, and will run for four weeks, June 5-28. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Douglass Branch Library.

You can find the eligibility requirements and application at the Humanities Research Institute website.
