Champaign County Forest Preserve District is inviting folks to come out to Lake of the Woods on Monday, October 9th, to help with seed collection. You’ll gather at Museum of the Grand Prairie at 9:30 a.m. for a talk (hopefully to learn about what you’re looking for), then traverse the trails at Buffalo Trace to collect seeds. Those seeds will be used in future plantings.
That sounds like a lovely way to spend a fall morning, if you are fortunate to have the time.
