Huzzah, once again there will be food service at The Literary, Downtown Champaign’s bookstore bar. The grand opening for The Literary Kitchen is this Saturday, September 9th. The kitchen’s new food menu will offer a variety of made-in-house savory snacks and desserts like cheesecake, tiramisu, and gelato.

Here’s a teaser of the menu:

French toast with miso-butterscotch sauce, whopped cream, caramelized pecans, and blueberries

bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich stuffed with hashbrowns, kimchi aioli, and arugula

seared salmon cakes over arugula, brown rice, beluga lentils, and lemon-dill dressing

cheeseburger on a brioche bunch with a burger sauce

fruit, greens, lentils, hemp hearts, and sweet cinnamon vinaigrette

The Literary Kitchen’s menu will also include vegan and gluten-free options. The cafe’s coffee drinks, cocktail menu, and BakeLab pastries will continue to be available.

The grand opening of The Literary Kitchen will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 9th and end Sunday until close. All weekend, books in the shop are 10% off.
