The Station Theatre has just announced the six shows that will make up their 51st season, which will run from September 2023 through May 2024. The line-up is quite diverse, with works depicting eight-grade “doomers” preparing to survive in a post-apocalyptic society; a 17th-century Romantic farce written by one of the few female playwrights of the Spanish Golden Age; a play chronicling years in the life of a Korean-American girl in the Midwest; and a musical that explores family, Jewish identity, and gay life at the dawn of the AIDS epidemic.
The season will open in September with The Inseparables by TJ Young, a comedic play about a theatre company rehearsing their original adaptation of The Three Musketeers. The play is directed by Mikel Matthews, Jr. and will run from September 14 through the 24th.
Other highlights of the season include House of Desires, a comedy of intrigue that sees “Don Pedro pine for Doña Leonor who is in love with Don Carlos, who is desired by Doña Ana, who is pursued by Don Juan.”
The season will close in May with Describe the Night written by Rajiv Joseph and directed by Latrelle Bright. Describe the Night is “set in Russia over the course of 90 years, this thrilling and epic new play by Rajiv Joseph traces the stories of seven men and women connected by history, myth, and conspiracy theories.”
