The next News, Brews, & Beatz will focus on Black-owned businesses

The News, Brews, & Beatz series, produced by Illinois Public Media, is back on October 26th with It Takes a Village: The Heath, Wealth, and Challenges of Black Owned Businesses in Central Illinois. The series began in 2021 with a focus on gun violence, and has expanded to include a variety of issues facing the Black community in C-U and beyond.

This next installment will take place at Campbell Hall, the home of Illinois Public Media, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a pre-reception at 5:30 p.m. Illinois Public Media News and Public Relations Director Reginald Hardwick will moderate the panel featuring Tracy Parsons (facilitator of Champaign County Community Coaltion), Matthew J. Simpson (Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity), and Tricia D. Teague (founder of Soar Space Business Center).
