Central Illinois Orchid Show and Sale

Spring is on its way, and to help usher it in, Central Illinois Orchid Society is once again hosting its annual Orchid Show and Sale on Saturday, March 5th, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. inside Hessel Park Christian Reformed Church, 700 W. Kirby Avenue, Champaign. Their last show and sale was two years ago, just before Illinois shut down because of COVID-19, and they are excited to be able to hold it once again. This free event includes an orchid show featuring displays of CIOS members’ orchids from their own collections. The group will also have dozens of orchids from multiple varieties for sale to the public (cash or check only please). Other highlights of the event include orchid repotting demonstrations at 11 AM and 1 PM, a door prize, orchid-growing information sheets, membership forms for joining the organization, and a room full of members eager to welcome you, to answer your orchid questions, and to share their passion for these amazing plants.

Central Illinois Orchid Society was founded in 1958. It is a diverse group of people interested in growing and/or enjoying orchids. Everyone is welcome at their meetings and events, whether you have never owned or grown an orchid or are an experienced grower. Their mission is to:

  • Exchange orchid-related information among orchid hobbyists.

  • Provide a forum for disseminating orchid-growing information through educational programs offered to members and the public.

  • Support local and global orchid conservation efforts.

  • Enjoy the fellowship of others who share a fascination with orchids.
