Jettie Rhodes Neighborhood Day typically happens in June. Founded by the late Ms. Jettie Rhodes of Urbana, it’s an annual celebration with the aim of bringing people together to meet and serve their neighbors. Because of the uncertainty of the safety of large gatherings this summer, organizers have decided to cancel the 2021 event.
However, staying true to their mission, they are planning to host a vaccine clinic on Saturday, March 27th. They are partnering with C-U Public Health District, Urbana Park District, and the Urbana School District to make it happen, with a goal of getting those in underserved communities access to vaccines. They hope to vaccinate 400 people.
