September is C-U Bike Month, and there are a couple of ways to participate over the next couple of weeks.

  • September 14th, 7 to 10 a.m. – Bike to Work Day. Ride your bike to work, and stop by a nearby welcome station to check in and get some swag. There are 16 different stations that will be set up through Champaign County. Register here so they can have a t-shirt ready for you. Rain date is September 15th.
  • September 19th, 4 to 7 p.m., Light the Night. Stop by Alma Mater Plaza, the Hallene Gateway, or the Ikenberry Commons Quad to get a free light installed on your bike. Rain date is September 21st.

C-U Bike Month is a collaboration between a whole bunch of area organizations and municipalities: Champaign County Bikes, C-U Safe Routes to School Project, Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Village of Savoy, Village of Mahomet, Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District, Champaign Center Partnership, Champaign County Forest Preserve District, Village of Rantoul, and Village of St. Joseph.
