Thirsty Thursday: Seven of Limes at Avionics

This warm week in Champaign-Urbana, I was thirsty for something cold and refreshing: the Seven of Limes at Avionics. This brand-new drink ($6.38) tasted fantastic: a bright and deliciously funky iced tea. It had oolong and hibiscus tea with black-lime syrup over ice. I loved the drink’s strong tea flavor and the gentle floral accent of hibiscus. Black limes are dried limes, and the uncommon ingredient added a lovely sour-sweet to the drink. Not too sweet, Avionics’ Seven of Limes was brilliantly refreshing.

I prefer to linger at the cozy coffee shop because then the iced drink comes in a glass jar, which somehow makes it taste better, but it’s available to go as well.

Avionics is an awesome coffee shop with light jams, pretty lighting, and a strong wifi signal. There’s indoor seating as well as patio tables along the front and side of the building. For more about the Midtown coffee shop’s offerings, read Chase’s review of the coffee and bagel or more of my words about their coffee: Page Roasting drip coffee, the sweet heat latte, and the harvest moon latte.
