You can be a Campustown Explorer and win prizes this summer

Champaign Center Partnership is promoting 13 Thursdays again this summer, where you can take advantage of various deals at Campustown businesses. If you want to take things to the next level, you can also participate in Campustown Explorers. By trying various “challenges”, you can earn points. Earn a certain number of points in a week, and your name goes into a prize drawing. For example, if you earn 350 points by 11:59 p.m. on June 30th, you could win two Colonnade Club tickets to the Illinois-Iowa football game.

Here are examples of some of the challenges:

  • Take a video of yourself singing a song in front of the Music Building
  • Take a selfie while watching a Movie on the Quad
  • Take a video of yourself dancing to “Wheels on the Bus” at the MTD Transit Plaza
  • Play Are You Smarter Than a Townie and answer trivia questions
  • Go to an exhibit at Krannert Art Museum

And there are many more. It might be a fun way to pass the time this summer, or get your kids out of the house. Teens might be a tough sell, but the younger set don’t mind looking a little strange in public.

You can find instructions on how to download the Eventzee app and get signed up for the challenge on the CCP website.

If you keep accumulating those points each week (and get to 700 by August 18th), you could be eligible to win the grand prize, a one night stay at TownePlace Suites and two colonnade club tickets on homecoming (October 15th), and a Champaign essentials gift basket.
