The dine-in location for Mahomet’s Lucky Moon Pies and More is set to open soon. Five days a week, the new bakery will offer a variety of pie, cookies, muffins, scones, and cake. In addition to delicious desserts, Lucky Moon will have a regular menu of sandwiches, soups, and fresh salads plus drip coffee, tea, and bottled craft drinks. Each day inside the Mahomet café, a chalkboard will also announce a quiche of the day and a special sandwich.
Today, I got to have a little look inside the renovated space.
When this location opens, the current Lucky Moon on Oak Street will become the bakery, and this new café will be where Lucky Moon’s fresh baked goods are sold.
The new space has floor-to-ceiling windows at the front and six vintage tables for dine-in customers to enjoy the bakery’s sweet and savory options. I love the eclectic style of the chairs; Lucky Moon used Three-Toad Treasures in Mansfield, Illinois to source all of the wooden furniture.
The food that Lucky Moon makes is awesome. I love the little shop’s chicken noodle soup, and their jumbo chocolate chip cupcake is awesome, too — so is the buttermilk pie with berries. For more about Lucky Moon’s pies and other bites, read Matt’s review, Remington’s review, and Rachael’s review.
For quick meals to-go, there will be a cold case of packaged sandwiches, salads, and snacks, too.
For the exact opening date, follow Lucky Moon Pies and More on Instagram and Facebook, and watch for the announcement.
