It’s a busy weekend in Champaign-Urbana

This weekend many people in Champaign-Urbana will celebrate Mother’s Day and / or commencement at the University of Illinois. It’s a busy, busy weekend for local restaurants; if you don’t have a reservation, well, good luck (there is always takeout). This might be the time to explore restaurants in our neighboring communities, but note that Illinois State University is also holding its commencement this weekend, so you might want to avoid Bloomington-Normal, too. There are plenty of other things to do, food and otherwise, in our surrounding communities.

With all the students moving out for the summer, our Editorial Board got to thinking about garbage this week. What’s the waste disposal situation like in C-U? Why are there so many waste removal trucks driving through your neighborhood so early in the morning? The Editorial Board ponders the same questions you do.
