The European Union Center is hosting a special Halloween Edition film screening of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. The film was screened early this year as part of Ebertfest. You can read Will’s review of the 1920 German horror film (but be warned, it contains spoilers). The silent film tells the story of an insane hypnotist who uses his sleepwalker to commit murders. At this special screening, the film will be introduced by Laurie R. Johnson, Professor of Germanic Languages & Literatures who will provide some additional context about the film’s role in the history of cinema.

The film screening event will also have refreshments and a costume contest with prizes for students.
