If you are looking for a different sort of spooky experience this weekend, this seems like a fun idea. The Constitution Trail is a paved path that branches out through a good portion of Bloomington-Normal. This Friday and Saturday, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., about a quarter of a mile of it will be haunted with scary sounds, lighting, costumed creatures, and spooky displays. Those attending should line up at 100 E Phoenix Avenue in Normal.

You can purchase a VIP ticket online for $12 (this acts like a fast pass and reduces your wait time), or pay $3 at the event. This is recommended for ages 13 and up. Younger kids can attend if accompanied by an adult, but I’m guessing if they are sensitive to this stuff maybe this isn’t for them.

This part of the trail is quite close to Uptown Normal, where there are plenty of places to grab dinner. Patrick recently tried Fiala Brothers and is still thinking about their grilled cheese.

Check out the Haunted Trail website for details on where to park.
