Downtown Champaign’s book bar The Literary will launch their very own café this Wednesday. Starting on August 16th, The Literary Café will pour Colectivo Coffee (Blue Heeler drip, Toro espresso, and decaf Columbian espresso) and collaborate with Urbana’s BakeLab to sell fresh pastries daily inside the bookstore. The BakeLab baked goods for this week will be chocolate strawberry danishes, original caneles, classic butter croissants, pain au chocolate, and fresh fruit mini bites.

The new café’s drink menu includes a chamomile matcha sip called Matcha Do About Nothing, coconut cold brew, ginger-mint sparkling lemonade, tangerine-ginger iced tea with cold foam, and a dulce de leche with steamed chai and milk. The Literary Café’s espresso bar will run from open to close, meaning no more early closure of coffee service. The kitchen will start offering food in a couple of weeks.

The Literary bar is still serving alcoholic beverages. Sip on a Gin Eyre (lemonade with Empress gin) and Atticus Finch (bourbon, honey, thyme, orange bitters, and ginger beer). Previously, The Literary hosted Hopscotch Brunchette with a menu of coffee, breakfast, brunch and snacks.
