The next Amnesty Event begins October 11th

A couple of times a year, the Champaign County Circuit Clerk’s office hosts Amnesty Week, where people can pay off their balance on a criminal, traffic, DUI, ordinance violation or conservation violation without paying any accrued late or collection fees.

This year’s event will be October 11-21, and participants will need to to first request an amnesty quote either online or by emailing [email protected] with your name with middle initial, address, phone number, email address, case number or numbers, and additional name or alias that may be associated with the case(s). You can find instructions on finding your case number, and all other details on how the process works and how to make your payment, on the Circuit Clerk’s website.

An important note from the Circuit Clerk:

Late fees and collection fees will only be waived in these cases if you pay the full balance of what you owe on each case during this event.  This waiver does not apply to any fines and costs which have already been paid, or any tax refunds which have been applied against what is due and owing.
