National Burger Day is tomorrow, Friday, July 28th. I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of burgers. Give me cheeseburgers, smashburgers, thick steakburgers, and food truck burgers. I even love little bitty burg sliders, too. Here’s a look at delicious burgers from restaurants around Champaign-Urbana, so we can get nice and hungry in anticipation of the blessed National Burger Day.

This is Farren Pub’s fire burger, and the top photo is my go-to at Farren’s when I want a cheeseburger (build-your-own with double American cheese, sautéed onions, pickles, and ranch). The beloved burger joint‘s patties are custom-ground by Old Time Meat & Deli. The pub even has a special signature beer made by Blind Pig called Swines Toast Bovine to go with their burgers.

I ordered this beautiful aged steakburger off the comfort plates at Hamilton Walker’s steakhouse. My favorite part is that the bacon slices are so big they stick out the sides.

In Downtown Champaign, The Space restaurant smashes burgers on a diner griddle in the former Merry Ann’s Diner space. This is the Oklahoma smashburger, which comes with griddled onions, American cheese, and special sauce — and it’s absolutely delicious.

This yummy bacon-ranch smashburger is by Smith Burger Co, which has a dinner location inside Collective Pour in Downtown Champaign. Smith Burger also continues to run their green food truck, posting locations and times on Instagram weekly.

If you want a great cheeseburger in Urbana, then go for the lunch cheeseburger from Silvercreek restaurant in Downtown Urbana. This burger costs $15 including fries, and it tastes as good as it looks.

Known best for their delicious fried chicken, Watson’s Shack & Rail‘s double-smashburger is so, so good. It’s only available on the brunch menu, but Watson’s brunch is a must.
