The drive-through beverage restaurant Ginger Ale’s is now open for business in Savoy. In addition to beverages, the fast food business offers indulgent foods like nachos, chili cheese dogs, and a doughnut sandwich. Today, I ordered the cinnamon sugar pretzel stuffed with cream cheese ($4.95). The pretzel was served hot and tasted good.

There are multiple windows for the Ginger Ale’s experience: one for payment, one for drinks, and a third for food.

I also ordered a flavor-shot beverage: a Sprite with strawberry flavor-shot addition and Pop Rocks candy, plus a fresh fruit puree of piña colada ($4.98). The Pop Rocks started detonating inside my soda as soon as the staff handed me the drink. The soda was super sugary because of the Sprite base. If it had been sparkling water instead of soda, it wouldn’t have been too sweet, but sadly, this was too sugary (for me) to enjoy more than a few sips.

The menu boasts more than septillion options for drinks, from coffee to smoothies to ginger ale.

Ginger Ale’s will likely be a popular spot for people with a sweet tooth — and a car; there’s no dine in or outdoor seating.

Online ordering isn’t yet available for our Savoy location, but I assume it will be on the website soon.
